Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Birding at Mabamba Wetland

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your expert birding guide. Travel to Mabamba Wetland for a canoe excursion in search of the iconic Shoebill Stork and other wetland species including papyrus gonoleks, jacanas, kingfishers, and herons. Overnight in Entebbe.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, drive to Murchison Falls National Park, enjoying birding stops through forests, farmlands, and wetlands along the way. Arrive at your safari lodge in the evening and enjoy birdwatching around the lodge grounds.

Day 3: Murchison Falls Birding and Nile Boat Cruise

Begin with an early morning birding game drive across the northern savannah in search of Grey Crowned Cranes, Secretary Birds, Abyssinian Ground Hornbills, Denham’s Bustards, and numerous raptors. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll spot African Fish Eagles, Goliath Herons, kingfishers, cormorants, and a variety of waterbirds.

Day 4: Budongo Forest Birding and Top of the Falls
